Buy the Baby/Child Awhi Coat sewing pattern from Below the Kōwhai. The word "awhi" (pronounced "ah-fee") means "hug" in the Māori language, and this coat is like a warm cuddle for your child!
The Awhi Coat has a cross-over front for extra warmth, and the fit allows for winter layers underneath. It comes with variations for a pointed or curved collar or a gusset style hood, and in-seam pockets. The body, sleeves and hood are fully lined.
Beginner sewers will love how easy the button and loop fastening is to create. More advanced sewers might like to create buttonholes or apply snap fasteners instead (instructions not included) - this can be done without any modification to the pattern.
